In my youth, there was supposedly a threat of World War III. As the communists told us, the capitalist West wanted to destroy us, and therefore we should have prepared ourselves for a possible war from an early age. And what about us? We didn`t like marching exercises or training in wearing gas masks and chemical protection equipment, but when it came to shooting, that was different. Even though they only lent us air rifles as children, which are not proper firearms from an adult`s perspective, it was still the possibility of shooting that impressed us. Because we were almost like real soldiers.

Then we gradually grew up. And many of us understood the monstrosity of the childhood desire to become soldiers. And the luckiest of us managed to avoid military service or at least shorten it thanks to university studies or later alternative military service. But that doesn`t mean we gave up shooting. Shooting doesn`t just mean killing some strangers! We can shoot while hunting or for fun. And there is not much to object to such shooting. Only die-hard pacifists or people who are bothered by the noise that accompanies shooting can object to this.

And so, to this day, each of us still enjoys shooting. But that does not mean that we all shoot. Many of us do not have all the conditions for shooting. Some do not have a gun, some do not even have a license to own one, some do not have a place to shoot. And so some have resigned themselves to the fact that they will have to be content with only the ideas of what it would be like if they had a gun and could shoot.
